ShowNext · Current personal build

What to watch next, without losing the history behind it.

ShowNext is an Apple-native movie and TV tracker built on Trakt. It is designed to open from a complete local library, stay useful at large library sizes, and keep the next episode, upcoming release, and discovery reason close at hand.

Current build

The useful parts stay close.

The current native checkpoint centers the everyday loop instead of turning a viewing library into a dashboard.
Today

See what is on now and what arrives next.

Upcoming episodes, available movies, premieres, and watchlist releases share one date-led view.

Shows & Movies

Keep a large Trakt library responsive.

Local-first browsing, paginated synchronization, progress, release changes, and useful shelves remain available without hiding incomplete work.

Discovery

Understand why something is here.

Recommendations carry visible release, genre, popularity, and preference reasons instead of presenting unexplained picks.

Built around trust

Trakt stays authoritative. ShowNext stays clear about what it owns.

Direct account connection. The current release path authorizes with Trakt from the device and stores resulting user tokens in the Keychain.

Private app state. ShowNext-owned choices can remain local and may synchronize through the person’s private iCloud container when enabled.

Separate community identity. ShowNext Lab participation is never joined to Trakt identity or viewing history.

User-reviewed diagnostics. Nothing is uploaded automatically; the person previews the redacted support report before choosing whether to share it.

Living R&D and feedback

Want active progress instead of the stable product overview?

ShowNext Lab is the development journal and community-feedback surface for current checkpoints, experiments, design participation, and progress notes. LifeWithTech remains the product landing page.
