Desk Fit Comes First
The JOURNEY ALTI LIFT puts a reversible desk mat beside an adjustable wireless charging module. In this first look, I unpack it, try my iPhone Duo on the stand, and move things around on my actual computer desk. The felt feels nice, but whether I would use this as my main mat comes down to how it fits around the equipment already there.
The charging section has a rubber-textured base and a phone holder that can tilt and rotate. I like being able to angle the phone toward me or set it lower. My hesitation is the grip: the Duo turns with very little force in the setup I show. I also would have preferred a more substantial-feeling material in that part of the stand. Those are first impressions of this configuration, not a measured magnetic-retention or durability test.
I point out the alignment dots before closing the stand; when the parts line up, there is also a click you can feel. The included magnetic adapter ring gets a look during unboxing, but I do not install or test it on a non-MagSafe phone. The mat itself combines felt and vegan leather, and I explore how its layers and the separate charging section work on my crowded desk.
The power detail matters: my box included the USB-C cable, but not a wall power adapter. For this first setup, I used the adapter from the JOURNEY SUMMIT Ultra kit. I then try the phone and AirPods charging positions and show their charging indications. That confirms the initial setup shown here; it is not a charging-speed or temperature measurement.
My existing felt mat is longer, so I am leaning toward using the ALTI LIFT on a side desk rather than replacing it on the main one. That is a preference for my layout, not a conclusion that it will be the wrong size for everyone. JOURNEY sent this product for review. The short version
Check the space around your keyboard and mouse, where you want the phone to sit, and the power adapter you will use. I like the felt and flexible phone angle, but the Duo grip and my desk layout need more time. This is an unboxing and first setup, with the longer-term review still ahead.
