What I Found
Setup stalled
I bought the wireless Creator Micro 2 Pro with silent switches, hoping its Codex task lights would give me something my existing Stream Deck setup did not. This livestream is the first opening of the box and an attempt to get that workflow running. It turned into troubleshooting rather than a finished demonstration.
The hardware made a good first impression: a compact body with some weight to it, a dial, a joystick, and backlit keys. I chose black keycaps and was curious about how visible the status colors would be compared with the translucent caps. The box also included a USB-C cable, extra keycaps, and a QR code for setup.
I installed Work Louder’s Input app, went through the requested Mac permission prompts, connected the device, and ran the firmware update offered during setup. Input let me explore key mapping, lighting, and layers. That basic keyboard configuration and the Codex integration were separate parts of the experience.
The trouble started with the connection. I saw multiple Bluetooth entries while trying the available slots, layout updates failed, and Codex kept switching between connected and failed states. Connecting a cable helped some settings save, but did not give me a stable Codex integration during the session. A connection appearing in Bluetooth was not enough to show that the whole workflow was working.
I ended the live planning to contact support. I did not establish a reliable fix in this recording, so this is not a setup tutorial to follow step by step. The practical lesson is to check the complete path: the controller must connect, its settings must save, and the intended app integration must stay connected.
Follow-up: the later review covers the Input and firmware updates that got me further, the task-status keys, and the frustrations that remained. It is linked below so you can move from the failed first session to the more useful assessment. I purchased the controller myself; the official product link is not an affiliate link.
What this video covers
- Unboxing the wireless Pro model with silent switches
- Looking at the dial, joystick, backlighting, and included parts
- Installing Input and attempting the initial firmware update
- Exploring keymaps, lighting, layers, and Bluetooth slots
- Connection failures and unsuccessful layout updates
- Why I stopped and followed up after more troubleshooting
The short version
The idea was appealing, but I did not finish with a working Codex setup during this live session. Use it as an honest first-experience record. The later review is the better place to assess what worked after updates and whether the controller fits your workflow.
