Apple Vision Pro Meets Screenlit: How to Watch 2D Movies in Stunning 3D!

When it comes to watching local videos, Infuse has long been my go-to app. It’s reliable, versatile, and simply works. Recently, though, I ventured into trying some new (and revisited) apps to see what else is out there—and I wasn’t disappointed.

Screenlit: Turning 2D Movies into 3D

I stumbled upon Screenlit, and it’s a fascinating app. It uses AI to convert your 2D movies into 3D, and surprisingly, it does a pretty solid job. I even got to chat with the developer, suggesting features like WebDAV support, which they added to their roadmap on Trello.

One unexpected feature that stood out was the ability to curve the screen slightly. With a simple slider, you can add just a touch of curvature to the movie screen, and wow—it’s a game-changer. Going back to a flat screen after that felt lackluster.

Skybox: A Cinematic VR Experience

I also revisited Skybox VR, currently in beta. This app once supported Oculus and Meta devices, and its virtual environments remain some of the most immersive I’ve experienced. The realistic movie theater setting is unmatched, offering adjustable features like lighting, chair height, and even screen reflections. It truly feels like being in a premium theater, but from the comfort of your headset.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re looking to enhance your local video playback with subtle yet impactful features like Screenlit’s AI 3D and curved screen or dive into one of the best theater envirments with Skybox, these apps are worth exploring. They breathe new life into your movie-watching routine and show just how much the technology has evolved.
