Unlock Tesla's Cool Factor: Personalize Your Lock Sound Now!

Your browser doesn't support HTML5 audio

Monster Growl Needs to be in .Wav format and named to LockChime.wav

I just came across this super cool feature for Tesla Model Y owners and I thought you'd love to hear about it. It's about customizing the lock sound of the car with any audio file of your choice. Imagine your car making your favorite sound every time you lock it – pretty awesome, right?

Here's how it works:

  1. Accessing the Feature: Tesla rolled out a new update that includes the option for custom lock sounds. You'll find it under the 'toy box' section in the car's menu.

  2. Preparing the Sound File: The sound needs to be in a '.wav' format. If you have an MP3 file, you can easily convert it online. Remember, the file size should be less than 1MB.

  3. Transferring the File to Your Tesla: Insert a USB drive into your computer and copy the '.wav' file onto it. The file names needs to be 'LockChime.wav' Rename it.

  4. Uploading to Your Tesla: Plug the USB into the center console of your Tesla. It's important to use the same port where you would normally insert a drive for recording dashcam footage.

  5. Setting the Custom Sound: Once the USB is in, go back to the 'toy box' and then to the 'boom box' feature. Select the USB option, and your custom sound should play.

  6. Testing it Out: Lock your car and listen to your new custom sound!

This feature opens up a lot of fun possibilities. You could use anything from a classic car lock sound to something more humorous or personal. I'm going with a monster growl / breathing– how cool would that be?

Let me know if you try it out and which sound you choose. It's a small tweak, but it adds a personal touch to your Tesla experience. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Take care and happy customizing!
