Headlines: Western Digital's and Hitachi's merger approved

Western Digital and Hitachi are two of the leading hard drive manufactures will soon be merging. The European Union has given the ok to Western Digital's plan to puchese Hitachi's storage division for $4.3 billion dollars. With companies consolidating at this rate like Seagate's purchase of Samsung's HDD division back in April there should be some concern of a monopoly. The EU only approved Western Digital deal after they were assured that they would sell off some of its production assets, including a manufacturing plant, as well as transfer some of it's intellectual properties to a new unit going up for auction.
